Journal Entry 1
Chapters 1-3 (Pg 1-31) Today I started the book Animorphs by K.A. Applegate. It starts with the main character Jake explaining that he cannot tell us the readers about the whereabouts his at because he is worried that "something" will them. He then starts telling about this one night where after a night of bowling with his best friend Marco, he, Marco, his cousin Rachel, his friend Cassie who he kind of has a crush on, and Tobias, his friend who admires Jake because he stopped two kids from giving him a swirly, encounter a alien. This alien known as an Andalite tells them that other aliens are on this planet and they want to destroy the human race. Those aliens are known as the Yeerks, aliens who don't have an actual body but have host bodies in humans. The Andalite tells them that he is dying and that he decides to put the fate of the human race in their hands by giving them a special power only exclusive to Andalites, the ability to morph into any animal. As he is done giving them their powers Visser 3, the leader of the Yeerks who also has the ability to morph, arrives on the scene causing the Andalite to tell them to run and warn people of the Yeerks before it is too late.
Journal Entry 2
Chapters 5-10 (Pg 32-76) It continues off with Visser Three sending his slaves the Hork-Bajirs & the Taxxons, their allies, to look for the humans, but they end up finding the Andalite. The Humans watch by as Visser Three transforms into this colossal being that kills the Andalite by eating him alive. The kids look on sad and depressed as they just met the Andalite and he just died right in front of him. They end escaping the wrath of Visser Three and all of his minions. The Next Day, Tobias stops by Jake's house to show him that he could morph into Dude, his cat. Tobias's troubled family life is revealed as that he never knew his father, his mother passed away, and he is traded back in forth between his aunt and uncle who hate each other. Jake can't believe that Tobias transformed and he would get convinced by Tobias to transform in Homer, his dog. Tobias & Jake realize that when they transform half their brain is human and the other half is the animal they transformed into. Jake decides to hold a meeting between everyone (Rachel, Tobias, Cassie, Marco, & himself) at Cassie's farm. Jake would tell us that he used to be close to his older brother Tom until he joined The Sharing, a club, where he wasn't acting like himself like how he didn't care that Jake didn't make the basketball team (Tom is really into basketball) and tells Jake that he quit the team. It was all of this that made Jake suspect that Tom is a Human Controller. At Cassie's farm two things are revealed. One, Cassie can transform into a horse without her clothes being destroyed (When Tobias & Jake transformed they ended naked after since it destroyed their clothes). Two, in a newspaper it says that cops are looking for the teenagers who caused a rucus at the construction site last night. As they started getting worried that they can't trust anyone else besides the five of them the cops arrive.
Journal Entry 3
Chapters 11-16 (Pg 77-118) Today, I read off where we left off with the cops showing up at Cassie's ranch where they talk to the group if they saw the kids at the construction site the other night. Jake then realized somehow that the cops where controllers (people who were controlled by the Yeerks) when they invited them to The Sharing meeting later that night. The group would decide to go after Tobias, in red tailed hawk form, found out that The Sharing is just a group made up by Yeerks trying to recruit more people so they could take over their bodies. They all went to The Sharing meeting, which was at the beach, so they could find the yeerk pool. At first, there was a party and games going on until a meeting with the full members was about to commence. Jake decided to morph into to dog form to try to get some information where he found out that Visser Three's host is their assistant principal Mr. Chapman. After Jake couldn't control his dog urges, Cassie had to go in unmorphed to get him out of there. During the meeting, Jake would overhear Tom saying that Jake should be brought in or killed if he doesn't. It was once he said that, that he accepted the fact that his brother was gone now and the Yeerk was in control. The next day, Jake would learn a new transformation, a lizard, where he would transform in his locker, but he would realize that he was trapped in his locker after he couldn't open the locker with his lizard feet.
Final Journal Entry
Chapters 17-27 (Pg 119-184) It starts with Jake telling the others about the secret entrance to the Yeerk Pool in the janitor's closet. On a unrelated note, there have been signs of a possible romantic relationship between Tobias & Rachel seeing as when Tobias that nobody would care he was destroyed by the Yeerks, Rachel would then blurt out that she would. Then there was another scene where Tobias, in red tailed hawk form, perched on Rachel's shoulder and Rachel rubbed her head against him. Back to the story, Cassie would take the group to a zoo where her mom works to acquire new morphs. Jake would manage to get a Tiger Morph and Marco would manage to get a Gorilla Morph. The Next day, the Animorphs, a name Marco came up with for their group, went to school later that night to try to free the people from the Yeerks at the yeerk pool. They realize that Cassie is not there with them and when they get into the school they see the controllers taking Cassie to the Yeerk Pool. They discovered, through the entrance in the janitor's closet, an underground city that the Yeerks built for their Yeerk pool. As they headed down the stairs they separated, Jake & Marco going one way, Rachel going another, and Tobias checking from the ceiling. Marco would tell Jake to make sure the Yeerks don't get him. The Hork-Bajirs would find them behind a crate and attempted to capture them until Rachel morphed into an elephant and stomped all the Hork-Bajirs. Jake & Marco would then morph into a tiger and gorilla, respectively, where they managed to save Cassie & Tom. However, Visser 3 would appear and would transform into his monster form, that we read earlier in the book, and managed to recapture everyone they saved except for this one girl that Cassie saved by transforming into a horse and carried her the way up. The Animorphs managed to escape but with only one person saved and with Tom being recaptured. The Next Day, Tobias would visit Jake in his red tailed hawk form and would tell him that when Visser 3 transformed he hid a cavern until it was all over. Tobias would then say that it took over 2 hours and that he is stuck in his red tailed hawk form. Tobias would tell a saddened Jake that until the Andalites come to help them, they will fight!
