Perks Of Being A Wallflower: Journal Entry 4

(Pg 89-117) Today, it started with Charlie explaining what happened to Aunt Helen. That she got into a car accident on Christmas Eve also Charlie's 7th Birthday while going to get Charlie a birthday present. After explaining this, Charlie would soon get into a bad state of mind that resulted in him falling asleep outside in the snow where he ended up going to the Hospital. Since then, he's started to get his life back together after a smoking a cigarette with Sam & Patrick. Then he talks about how Mary Elizabeth asked him out to the Sadie Hawkins Dance because of his performance in the Rocky Horror Picture Show after Craig, who was supposed to play Rocky, no showed. He talks about how Mary Elizabeth asked him out another date  in which he said yes and how Sam went to the dance with Patrick because of two reasons. One, Brad went with his girlfriend Nancy and most importantly two Craig didn't want to go because it was a high school dance and he already graduated. He talked to Sam about it where she said she was o.k even though it was clear she wasn't. Then he noticed his sister and her boyfriend getting into a fight at the dance where she and her boyfriend ended up leaving the dance separately. Later at home Charlie would try to talk with her where she would end up telling him go away. But then his sister hugged him and told him that she was pregnant with her boyfriend's child. She then asked him if he can take her the clinic tomorrow to which he responded with "It's lucky I got my licence now." I predict that Charlie will quit smoking, Sam & Craig will break up, and Charlie's sister will get an abortion.

Perks Of Being A Wallflower: Journal Entry 3

(Pg 61-88) Today it started off with Charlie thinking about what to get for Patrick for Christmas, since he's Patrick's Secret Santa. He would get Patrick a mix tape, a magnetic poem, some water paints with paper, a harmonica and a book about playing it, and a book called The Mayor of Castro Street. At a Christmas party, it was revealed that Patrick was his Secret Santa in which he got Charlie some slacks, a tie, a white shirt, shoes, an old belt, and a suit coat because that's what writers wear. Then after everyone exchanged gifts, Charlie gave Sam a card with a record of the song "Something" from the Beatles and that once he met someone as beautiful as the song he would give it to them. Then Sam would whisper in his ear that she loved him and then they would go upstairs. Then they would talk for while until she told Charlie to pretend for a moment that she wasn't with Craig and then said that she wanted Charlie's first kiss to be from someone who loved him and they would end up kissing. Afterwards she told Charlie to promise to never speak of this, and he did. Flash forward a couple days later, Sam & Patrick have went to the Grand Canyon for Christmas leaving Charlie alone and depressed. Charlie's brother would come back for Christmas where he would get into a fight with his sister over his new college girlfriend that escalated to Charlie's brother saying that at least she doesn't any guy hit her in the face. Charlie's dad would stop the car, they were on their way to their grandparent's house, and would tell them to behave themselves and apologize to each other. While at their grandparent's house, Charlie would talk about how when his grandma married an abusive truck driver, who would hit his grandma and his aunt Rebecca, his great uncle Phil got his friends and they would go beat up the truck driver to death. Then he talked about how his family were depressed that their father left them to start his own life. I predict that Charlie will end telling someone causing Craig to break up with Sam, causing her to no longer be friends with Charlie.

Perks Of Being A Wallflower: Journal Entry 2

(Pg 28-60) Today it started off with Charlie meeting up with Sam & Patrick at the Homecoming Game where Sam would invite Charlie to a party they (She and Patrick) were having after the game. During the party, Charlie would catch Patrick and the football team's quarterback Brad kissing in the closet where Patrick would tell Charlie to never tell any one about this in which they decided to keep it as a secret between the two of them. I read about how the whole thing started between Brad & Patrick and that it started at a party when they were juniors (they're seniors now) when Brad & Patrick made out in the basement when they were left alone. Charlie would make things up with his sister after he saw his sister with the guy who hit her dancing at the homecoming dance. His sister would tell Charlie that she has been seeing the guy in secret since their dad told her to never see him again and then she told Charlie to keep it a secret between the two of them. I was introduced to new characters such as Brad, Bob (a guy who got Charlie stoned at the party after the Homecoming game), Mary Elizabeth (this Buddhist girl who runs The Rocky Horror Picture Show where people would dress like the characters from the movie and act out the scenes of the movie in front of the movie), and Craig (Sam's 21 year old boyfriend who Charlie is jealous of). And then Charlie talks about what happened at thanksgiving where everyone gathered to see an old game of his brother, who could unfortunately not make it to Thanksgiving due to low grades. I still predict that things are going to escalate between Sam & Charlie eventually and that his brother will eventually come visit with terrible news about his grades that prevents him from playing football.

Perks Of Being A Wallflower: Journal Entry 1

(Pg 1-28) Today, I started reading my book and i met the main character Charlie who types letters about his days, like a diary, for an unknown reason to unknown person. They don't reveal that much about him, but that he has a mom & dad, an older sister, and an older brother. He starts typing letters during his freshman year in High School (his sister is a senior in high school while his brother is a freshman at college by the way). Along the way we meet other main characters like Sam & Patrick, two seniors who are step siblings that Charlie befriends (Charlie also kinda has a crush on Sam, Sam is a girl by the way) and Charlie's English teacher Bill who gives advice to Charlie. At one point in the book he notices his sister getting hit by her boyfriend and his sister tells Charlie to never their parents about what just happened. Instead he tells Bill about it and he calls his parents who tell his sister stay away from her boyfriend, afterwards his sister would tell Charlie that she hates him. I predict that things are gonna happen between Charlie & Sam after Bill told Charlie a life lesson that "We accept the love that we deserve" and that maybe Charlie might have the courage to ask out Sam.

The Periodic Table: Writing

                                   The Periodic Table

Did you know that are currently 118 elements in the Periodic Table starting from Hydrogen all the way to Ununoctium. The Periodic Table is a large group of chemical elements that are arranged by their atomic number and their recurring chemical properties.
In the mid 1800s, Dmitri Mendeleev created his own version of the periodic table when he created a card game with the elements where he would arrange them by their atomic number, atomic mass, & chemical properties. Dmitri Mendeleev was a Russian chemist & an inventor.

What period is it in? 3. It is in Period 1

What family or group is it in? 4. It is in Group 1

By who? In what year? and where was it discovered? 5. It was discovered in 1766 by Henry Cavendish in London, England.

My Description on how Hydrogen is used in the modern world. (5-8 sentences)

Hydrogen is the lightest element in the periodic table. It has the chemical symbol of H and it has the atomic number 1. Even though the elements in Group 1 are alkaline metals, the list of alkaline metals start from Lithium down. So Hydrogen is not an alkaline metal, it’s a non-metal specifically a gas. Hydrogen as water is important for Human life. Hydrogen gas was used in lighter-than-air-balloons for transportation, but it was far too dangerous because of the fire risk.

Communication

                          Communication

The history of Communication has since then evolved from Cavemen throwing rocks at each other to posting a new tweet on Twitter. There are so many ways to communicate with your friends and family and yet some many to be created, but I think the best way to communicate with someone is Facebook.
First of all, one reason why Facebook is the best way to communicate with someone because you can communicate with multiple people at once. On Facebook, you can choose to like or dislike a comment if you find it funny, surprising, or mean, racist, and just plain out stupid. Also, you can meet new people by friending them and then you could learn everything about them by checking their profile. Overall, Facebook is a good fast working site where you could talk to all of your friends in a matter of seconds.
There are many options to communicate with that have similar features, but Facebook is different. On Twitter, when you are talking to your friend you see people who you don't know sending messages to you, while on Facebook you'll only see people that you know. When you text it takes atleast a minute to send a message to your friend, on facebook it takes a minute to talk to 5 friends. Also, on Facebook you can post pictures when on texting you can't, even if somehow you do find a way to put a picture when texting it takes like 3 minutes.
You may think Facebook is a bad sight due to all of the creepers on the internet. Someone can easily check up your profile and learn every single detail about you. Then that someone might find out where you and try to track you down and once he finds you he might molest you or possibly kill you! The internet is sometimes a bad place where creepers lurk and may say that creepers are mostly on facebook.
There are many ways to communicate with someone, but I think the best way is Facebook. Every reasonable person would agree that facebook is a good website for people to interact with their friends and family. I suggest you make a Facebook profile and meet new people, but not the creepers.

The Art of Graffiti

                       The Art of Graffiti

One day, I was walking down the street where I saw a mix of bright and dark red colors. The colors were intricately put together to show a giant creature with four wings and shiny golden eyes on a blank wall behind a supermarket. I couldn't take my eyes off its realistic features. It made me think that if I get close to it the creature would burn me to death.
First of All, Graffiti is writing or drawing that has been scribbled, scratched, or sprayed on a wall or another surface in public. People say graffiti is an act of vandalism, but to me I think graffiti is a work of art. I think graffiti resembles a lot to art because splattering paint on a wall is like painting a picture on a blank canvas. Also, graffiti is an art if you put a lot of hard effort and meaning to it. In most countries, people consider graffiti to be vandalism, but I think graffiti is a masterpiece painted on a wall.
Most Importantly, I think graffiti is needed in the world. I think graffiti is needed in the world because graffiti helps people to show their thoughts and ideas. For Instance, graffiti helps people show their emotions and feelings in word art. Also, people can show their ideas in graffiti to create something new such as in Southeast Asia someone painted a big mystical red dragon, which is cool! We need graffiti to help us express our ideas.
You might consider graffiti as an act of vandalism. If you paint on property that is not yours, such as the back of a supermarket, or someone’s house, it is considered to be vandalism. However, if you’re painting on your property, such as your house or your trashcan, it’s not vandalism, it’s an art.
I recommend that you check out the painting on the side of Jefferson Elementary. You’ll see a group of people on horses in a green field at sunset. I think you should see it because of its mix of colors such as green, blue, brown, and yellow. There’s another painting on the back of the McDermott Field House that shows a picture of 2 soldiers in the midst of a battle protecting the U.S. Flag, I think it represents the hardship the U.S. went through to protect the country. When people hear graffiti they think of it as an act of vandalism, but I think of it as an art. Graffiti is important to human society because graffiti is needed to express people’s thoughts, feelings, emotions, and ideas. Every reasonable person would agree that graffiti is a good thing to the world.
