One day, I was walking down the street where I saw a mix of bright and dark red colors. The colors were intricately put together to show a giant creature with four wings and shiny golden eyes on a blank wall behind a supermarket. I couldn't take my eyes off its realistic features. It made me think that if I get close to it the creature would burn me to death.
First of All, Graffiti
is writing or drawing that has been scribbled, scratched, or sprayed on a wall
or another surface in public. People say graffiti is an act of vandalism, but
to me I think graffiti is a work of art. I think graffiti resembles a lot to
art because splattering paint on a wall is like painting a picture on a blank canvas.
Also, graffiti is an art if you put a lot of hard effort and meaning to it. In
most countries, people consider graffiti to be vandalism, but I think graffiti
is a masterpiece painted on a wall.
Most
Importantly, I think graffiti is needed in the world. I think graffiti is
needed in the world because graffiti helps people to show their thoughts and
ideas. For Instance, graffiti helps people show their emotions and feelings in
word art. Also, people can show their ideas in graffiti to create something new
such as in Southeast Asia someone painted a big mystical red dragon, which is
cool! We need graffiti to help us express our ideas.
You might
consider graffiti as an act of vandalism. If you paint on property that is not
yours, such as the back of a supermarket, or someone’s house, it is considered
to be vandalism. However, if you’re painting on your property, such as your
house or your trashcan, it’s not vandalism, it’s an art.
I recommend that
you check out the painting on the side of Jefferson Elementary. You’ll see a
group of people on horses in a green field at sunset. I think you should see it
because of its mix of colors such as green, blue, brown, and yellow. There’s
another painting on the back of the McDermott Field House that shows a picture
of 2 soldiers in the midst of a battle protecting the U.S. Flag, I think it
represents the hardship the U.S. went through to protect the country. When
people hear graffiti they think of it as an act of vandalism, but I think of it
as an art. Graffiti is important to human society because graffiti is needed to
express people’s thoughts, feelings, emotions, and ideas. Every reasonable
person would agree that graffiti is a good thing to the world.
