Animorphs The Invasion: Journal Entry 1

Chapters 1-3 (Pg 1-31) Today I started the book Animorphs by K.A. Applegate. It starts with the main character Jake explaining that he cannot tell us the readers about the whereabouts his at because he is worried that "something" will them. He then starts telling about this one night where after a night of bowling with his best friend Marco, he, Marco, his cousin Rachel, his friend Cassie who he kind of has a crush on, and Tobias, his friend who admires Jake because he stopped two kids from giving him a swirly, encounter a alien. This alien known as an Andalite tells them that other aliens are on this planet and they want to destroy the human race. Those aliens are known as the Yeerks, aliens who don't have an actual body but have host bodies in humans. The Andalite tells them that he is dying and that he decides to put the fate of the human race in their hands by giving them a special power only exclusive to Andalites, the ability to morph into any animal. As he is done giving them their powers Visser 3, the leader of the Yeerks who also has the ability to morph, arrives on the scene causing the Andalite to tell them to run and warn people of the Yeerks before it is too late.

A Brief History Of Time: Journal Entry 1

Chapter 1 (Pg 1-14) Today, I began my book A Brief History of Time by Stephan Hawking. He talked about the earth’s shape and why it’s round and not flat by using information from a book written by Aristotle. I got to read about the theories on where the solar system was centered around, Isaac Newton’s theory on Gravity and how it affects the universe, and whether not the universe had a beginning or if the universe had just already existed. It included work from famous people like Galileo Galilee, Isaac Newton, Johann Kepler, & Aristotle. I read about the history of theories, arguments, & theses about whether the universe had a beginning or if it was already there. Then Stephan Hawking was talking about what makes a good theory by using Newton’s theory of gravity and Einstein’s theory of relativity as examples. I also read about a time in 1929 when Edward Hubble comes up with the theory of the Big Bang. I also read about relativity & quantum mechanics and how there is yet to be a combination of the two theories (the quantum theory of gravity). And that “our goal, of desiring knowledge, is nothing less than the description of the universe that we live in. 

Perks Of Being A Wallflower: Final Journal Entry

(Pg 183-213) Today, it started on the day before Graduation Day, where Charlie's brother comes back from college to see his sister graduate. Charlie brings up how he met a sports newscaster at the park where he talked about his brother which made his brother & his dad happy. Then, Charlie and his entire family go to the graduation to see Charlie's sister, Sam, Patrick, Alice, Mary Elizabeth, & Brad graduate. After the graduation, Charlie would get a call from Sam to go to a dance club to meet up, but Charlie's dad told him that he couldn't leave until his relatives left. After all of his relatives left, Charlie would meet up with all of his friends (especially Sam & Patrick) at the dance club where they left to a party at Sam & Patrick's house. The party kept going until it was just Sam & Charlie. They would go to Sam's room where Sam would get mad at him about how he was never himself and that he was always a shoulder to cry on who just listens instead of an actual friend who helps his friends during hard troubles and looks out for himself too instead of putting his friends before him. Then, Charlie would kiss Sam, who would kiss him back, and then things would start to escalate fast until Sam touched Charlie's thigh which made him pause for a second letting Sam think that he wasn't ready yet ending the night. The Next Day, Charlie would say his goodbye to Sam where they promised to call each other when ever they were feeling bad. Afterwards, Charlie would start feel bad & panicky, just like the night before, things got so bad that he ended up in a hospital for 2 months. Then, it was revealed that Aunt Helen used to molest Charlie when he was younger. During his time in the hospital, Charlie would get many visitors who tried to cheer him up. After he was released from the hospital, Charlie got a call from Sam where she said that she was gonna pick him up in her pick up truck to go through the tunnel with Patrick and her. Then, Charlie would get in the trunk, while the truck was still moving, where he would lift his arms in the air where he would feel "infinite". Then Charlie would state that this might be his last letter so he promised that he would always be fine and that when ever he wasn't he would soon be ok and hopes for the thing for who ever is reading the letters.

Perks Of Being A Wallflower: Journal Entry 6

(Pg 149-182) Today was a big one. It started with Brad & Patrick breaking up after getting into a fight at lunch because of Brad ignoring him and calling him the f word. Then a fight broke out between those two until Brad's football buddies joined in and started beating on Patrick. It kept going until Charlie came in and beat up Brad and his buddies and gave Brad a serious warning. Because of the fight, Patrick would get suspended & Charlie, Brad, & Brad's buddies would get detention. After Detention, Sam would pick up Charlie where they made up as friends and then told Charlie to make up with Mary Elizabeth and to be friends again, which they did. After this, Charlie would hang out with Patrick more often because Patrick was sad over Brad and needed company.And every time they hang out Patrick would kiss Charlie, who would let him because that's what friends do apparently. This would soon stop after Patrick got better. Charlie would also start getting sad after realizing that his sister and all his friends would be leaving for college soon, especially Sam who's leaving early for a summer program. Sooner or later it would be time for the Senior prom where Sam & Craig would break up, at an after party, after Craig admitted to cheating on Sam numerous times. One day later, Charlie would have breakfast with Bill and his girlfriend where Bill would tell Charlie that when ever he wanted to ask questions about books he can come to him because they're friends, then Charlie would start crying and he would call him the best teacher he ever had then he got hugged by Bill's girlfriend and he get a handshake from Bill and went home. I have no predictions this time.

Perks Of Being A Wallflower: Journal Entry 5

(Pg 117-149) Today it started with Charlie and his sister at the at the clinic where two things happen: Charlie's sister catches him smoking and she tells him that she's not pregnant. They both agree not to tell their parents about it because they would be mad at both of them. One day later, Charlie's sister tells him that she broke up with her secret boyfriend. Then it talks about how Charlie goes on his second date with Mary Elizabeth where they become an official couple. Afterwards, Charlie realized that he really doesn't like Mary Elizabeth in that way, and he's been trying to must up the courage to break up with her. Then came one night when everybody played Truth or Dare. Everything was fine until Charlie was dared to kiss the prettiest girl in the room. Instead of doing the smart thing and kiss his girlfriend Mary Elizabeth, he instead kisses Sam causing the room to go silent and leading Patrick to take Charlie outside. He explains to Charlie that he shouldn't be around anymore at least until the whole thing blows over, in which Charlie reluctantly agreed. I predict that Sam will forgive him, but that Mary Elizabeth won't.

Perks Of Being A Wallflower: Journal Entry 4

(Pg 89-117) Today, it started with Charlie explaining what happened to Aunt Helen. That she got into a car accident on Christmas Eve also Charlie's 7th Birthday while going to get Charlie a birthday present. After explaining this, Charlie would soon get into a bad state of mind that resulted in him falling asleep outside in the snow where he ended up going to the Hospital. Since then, he's started to get his life back together after a smoking a cigarette with Sam & Patrick. Then he talks about how Mary Elizabeth asked him out to the Sadie Hawkins Dance because of his performance in the Rocky Horror Picture Show after Craig, who was supposed to play Rocky, no showed. He talks about how Mary Elizabeth asked him out another date  in which he said yes and how Sam went to the dance with Patrick because of two reasons. One, Brad went with his girlfriend Nancy and most importantly two Craig didn't want to go because it was a high school dance and he already graduated. He talked to Sam about it where she said she was o.k even though it was clear she wasn't. Then he noticed his sister and her boyfriend getting into a fight at the dance where she and her boyfriend ended up leaving the dance separately. Later at home Charlie would try to talk with her where she would end up telling him go away. But then his sister hugged him and told him that she was pregnant with her boyfriend's child. She then asked him if he can take her the clinic tomorrow to which he responded with "It's lucky I got my licence now." I predict that Charlie will quit smoking, Sam & Craig will break up, and Charlie's sister will get an abortion.

Perks Of Being A Wallflower: Journal Entry 3

(Pg 61-88) Today it started off with Charlie thinking about what to get for Patrick for Christmas, since he's Patrick's Secret Santa. He would get Patrick a mix tape, a magnetic poem, some water paints with paper, a harmonica and a book about playing it, and a book called The Mayor of Castro Street. At a Christmas party, it was revealed that Patrick was his Secret Santa in which he got Charlie some slacks, a tie, a white shirt, shoes, an old belt, and a suit coat because that's what writers wear. Then after everyone exchanged gifts, Charlie gave Sam a card with a record of the song "Something" from the Beatles and that once he met someone as beautiful as the song he would give it to them. Then Sam would whisper in his ear that she loved him and then they would go upstairs. Then they would talk for while until she told Charlie to pretend for a moment that she wasn't with Craig and then said that she wanted Charlie's first kiss to be from someone who loved him and they would end up kissing. Afterwards she told Charlie to promise to never speak of this, and he did. Flash forward a couple days later, Sam & Patrick have went to the Grand Canyon for Christmas leaving Charlie alone and depressed. Charlie's brother would come back for Christmas where he would get into a fight with his sister over his new college girlfriend that escalated to Charlie's brother saying that at least she doesn't any guy hit her in the face. Charlie's dad would stop the car, they were on their way to their grandparent's house, and would tell them to behave themselves and apologize to each other. While at their grandparent's house, Charlie would talk about how when his grandma married an abusive truck driver, who would hit his grandma and his aunt Rebecca, his great uncle Phil got his friends and they would go beat up the truck driver to death. Then he talked about how his family were depressed that their father left them to start his own life. I predict that Charlie will end telling someone causing Craig to break up with Sam, causing her to no longer be friends with Charlie.
